I've never really known what my talents are, but if I had to pick one, I'd say I'm a little bit good at English.
Memorizing vocabulary and learning phonetics are very important. In junior high, English was out of 120, and I scored 107 on my first try, ranking first in my class. The biggest reason was definitely that I paid close attention in class. Once, during morning self-study, my English teacher, Liu Ting, came to talk to me. She walked over to my seat and tapped me on the shoulder. I was startled. I don't remember exactly why she wanted to talk to me, but she praised me in front of everyone, saying I was very focused on my studies. The tap startled me. The second reason was that I did well in my first few English lessons. The beginning focused on the basics: phonetics and grammar. You could say that once you've mastered these, it's like the skeleton of a building has been erected; the rest is just filling in the concrete and doing the interior decoration.
Recently, I need to learn technical skills abount llm. And the classical lesson is cs336 that is from stanford university. At first, I watch the video with eng-chinese capital text. But its very slow.
After I watch ten videos, i find a effective way that i focus on the slides and try not to watch the capital. Amazingly, i can understand the content delivered by teachers.
